To coincide with the first leg of the Champions League match between AC Milan and Atletico Madrid -the two InterSoccer partnership clubs- we visited this Italian city. There, with Daniele Paccagnan – Milan Junior Camp representative and InterSoccer external sports advisor- we were welcomed at the new headquarters of AC Milan in Portello by Alessandro Gianni, associate of the International Director for Soccer Schools, Silvio Broli, who was in Brazil.
The impressive new headquarters are located in a modern building which was the former Milan Trade Fair and very close to the San Siro Stadium. It replaces the old club offices in Via Turati. We were able to visit the spectacular trophy room of the most successful club in the world!
During our stay in Portello we had the opportunity to chat with Alessandro about the progress of our relationship and future possibilities for working together. There, we also had the chance to talk with Daniele Massaro, a former AC Milan player, Italian international and twice European champion in the times of Sacchi and Capello.
We then moved to Vismara which is the club’s youth teams sports centre. After visiting the soccer pitches and other facilities, we met Filippo Galli – legendary Milan player and the man who is currently responsible for the youth system. We had a meeting with Fabio Panza and Ivan Zauli about the U16 AC Milan team who are participating in the “U16 Alcobendas Champions” tournament which is organized by Alcobendas Levitt CF in collaboration with InterSoccer. This campionship will be held during April the 11th and 12th. AC Milan join FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Club Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad SAD and Alcobendas Levitt CF for a prestigious tournament.
It was a wonderful morning spent at the “Rossonero”!
